Singing covers has become a fad but there is always one performance that stands out. Though we love original singles, it’s good to hear singers’ rendition of other hit singles. This time, the rendition came from none other than James Bay.
In his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance, Bay took on Coldplay and Beyonce’s hit track “Hymn For The Weekend” and gave it a soulful touch. Hymn For The Weekend is an Indie R&B track which people groove to but Bay gave a ‘laid-back tone’ to the song as Entertainment Weekly reported.
James Bay is no stranger to innovation. His own singles like “Hold Back The River” and “Best Fake Smile” are the best examples. There is not one category in which one can restrict the singer. Bay can pull through any kind of genre. With his rendition of Coldplay’s track, he has proven it yet again.
His efforts did not go unnoticed. Coldplay took to Twitter to shout out for the singer and praised his cover of their song.
