James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke takes a trip down Broadway

Ahead of this year’s Tony Awards, James Corden (who just so happens to be presenting this year’s ceremony) has delivered another incredible Carpool Karaoke on his Late Late Show, this time featuring four of Broadway’s biggest stars.

Corden was first joined in the car by Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator and star of Hamilton which is nominated for a record breaking 16 Tony Awards this year. The duo opted for ‘Alexander Hamilton’ and ‘Guns and Ships’ from the Hamilton soundtrack, with Corden excelling with his rapping skills.

The pair then picked up three more Broadway stars: Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jane Krakowski, and Audra McDonald – a Broadway legend who holds the record for the most Tony wins including wins in all four acting categories (Best Actress in a Play, Best Actress in a Musical, Best Featured Actress in a Play, and Best Featured Actress in a Musical).

The quintet then continued the sing-along, with renditions of Rent’s ‘Seasons of Love’ and Jersey Boys‘ ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’, before ending with a rousing performance of ‘One Day More’ from Les Misérables. As a theatre veteran and Tony winner himself, Corden was right at home amongst the Broadway stars. Their rendition of ‘One Day More’ was both powerful and dramatic – it’s easy to see why Miranda, McDonald, Ferguson and Krakowski are so respected and loved in the theatre world!

Corden’s Carpool Karaoke was a great way to get excited for the Tony Awards, which will air on CBS Television Network this Sunday, June 12. You can check out the Carpool segment in full below.
