The Voice has just ended and with every new season, we get some contestants who stun us with the immensity of their calibre. This season, we got JEJ Vinson whose rendition of “Passionfruit” during the Blind Auditions did not just turn the chairs but led Blake Shelton to stand during the course of the performance and Kelly Clarkson to hide behind her chair. Till the present date, the audition video has garnered over seven million views on YouTube.
As a member of Team Kelly, the positive reaction to the artist sustained throughout his participation on the show and led many people to come back to relive his performances in the contest. Be it Khalid and Normani’s “Love Lies” or Bruno Mars’ “Versace on the Floor”, Vinson made sure to give his own twist to the performing tracks, leaving a lasting impression on the viewers.
Stepping his foot into the industry as an artist one must look out for, JEJ Vinson has now released his first official single. Titled “Tasty”, the single has been released via the streaming platforms and a lyric video has been made available on YouTube.
Vinson described the song as “a high-energy pop track that is sure to make you groove to the beat.”
Personifying love as a succulent food, Vinson uses the metaphor of consumption to describe the intense emotions present between him and his lover. Combining the genres of Disco and R&B, Vinson has created a perfect summer bop for the music lovers.
Talking about music, Vinson said,
“I want to be known as someone who is able to mix bits and pieces of my two favourite genres, Disco and R&B, with the current sound of pop. Tasty is just one of the products of my artistry.”
The Voice might have ended for Vinson but his journey seems to have just started.
