The Jonas Brothers are ramping up anticipation for their upcoming album with a new single and music video that blend pop brightness with heartfelt purpose. On Wednesday (July 16), the trio released “I Can’t Lose,” a buoyant track from their forthcoming seventh studio album Greetings From Your Hometown, arriving Aug. 8.
The music video, filmed partly on a New York City rooftop, sees the brothers performing for a select group of fans while intercut with powerful imagery of cancer survivors ringing treatment bells and celebrating milestones with loved ones. The project was unveiled in partnership with Mastercard in support of ‘Stand Up To Cancer’, premiering during Tuesday night’s MLB All-Star Game (July 15).
“I Can’t Lose” also carries the distinction of serving as the anthem for ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball, giving it an additional cultural spotlight. In a statement, the Jonas Brothers explained, “We debuted ‘I Can’t Lose’ – a song about love, strength, and showing up for the people you love. Dedicated to all of those who Stand Up To Cancer.” They added that working with Mastercard to honor fans who have leaned on their music through difficult moments “means so much” to them.
“Teaming up with Mastercard to uplift fans who’ve found hope and healing in our music means so much to us. ‘I Can’t Lose’ is a song we hope can carry different meanings for everyone who hears it and, for those who need it, a reminder of their own strength.”
Musically, the track leans into summer-ready pop buoyancy. Joe Jonas opens with verses detailing a string of everyday setbacks, while the chorus, shared with Nick, turns toward optimism: “I can’t lose when I’m with you.” The refrain delivers a message of resilience that the video visually reinforces.
“I Can’t Lose” follows the Bee Gees-inspired disco-pop number “No Time to Talk” and continues a rollout that has included previews like “Love Me to Heaven” and “Slow Motion,” their collaboration with Marshmello. Together, the singles showcase the range the Jonas Brothers are aiming for as they head into the release of Greetings From Your Hometown.
The album will dovetail with their 2025 JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour, launching August 10 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. For the band, the project is both a celebration of longevity and a continuation of their evolution as artists nearly two decades into their career.
With “I Can’t Lose,” Jonas Brothers strike a balance between carefree summer pop and a deeper message of hope, using their platform to spotlight resilience in the face of hardship.
