Vevo has revealed soulful pop sensation JP Cooper as its penultimate LIFT act of 2017.
The series will feature a variety of exclusive live performances and behind-the-scenes videos filmed in JP’s hometown of Manchester.
JP’s first video for the LIFT series is a moving interview where he explores his musical identity. He opens up for the first time about his working-class upbringing in Manchester. He talks about how the passing of his mother at a young age shaped him into the impassioned artist he is today.
Over the next few weeks, Vevo will continue to roll out videos including exclusive live performances of tracks from JP’s forthcoming debut album as well as behind-the-scenes footage.
Launched back in 2012, Vevo’s artist development programme LIFT throws the spotlight on the freshest new talent in Britain. Vevo LIFT alumni include the likes of Sam Smith, James Bay and Years and Years.
JP says: “I’m absolutely buzzing to have been chosen to be a Vevo LIFT artist. I love the creativity of the videos I’ve seen. It’s been amazing working with the team on the pieces we’ve put together. I ‘m excited to give a little more insight into my life before the music and the place where I grew up. I can’t wait to share it!”
