After teasing her fans, also known as her precious gems, on Twitter, singer-songwriter extraordinaire Julia Michaels has released her brand new track ‘Jump’ featuring Trippie Redd.
Once again, Julia has excelled herself by delivering another hypnotic offering. The track is armed with relatable lyrics which tell the tale of being hesitant in a new relationship before breaking down barriers and fully immersing yourself. Up and coming rapper Trippie’s verse is a good fit for the track, overall creating a truly captivating anthem.
‘Cause all I do is jump right into your arms
Every time I see you, I just wrap myself around you
Yeah, jump into something real
Even though I’m cautious, I just like the way it feels
When it’s us, baby, when it’s us
You make me forget that I’m not ready for love
I jump, oh, I jump
Speaking about ‘Jump’ with Smallzy on his radio show on Nova 937, Julia said: “It’s about wanting to sort of dive into something really quickly but you have so many hesitations because you’ve been hurt before.”

To coincide with the release of ‘Jump’, Julia has also shared an official lyric video for the song. Delivering one of the cleverest lyric videos we’ve seen in a long time, the track’s powerful words are highlighted using a string of random items. From bouncy balls to body parts, polaroid pictures to glitter, sweets to Cheetos, we can’t help but be completely obsessed by the creativity of the lyric video.

‘Jump’ follows on from Julia’s previous single, the 50 Shades Freed track ‘Heaven’. We can expect more new music from the songstress very soon as she will be featuring on a track called ‘Like To Be You’ on Shawn Mendes’ forthcoming self-titled album.
