She’s one of the hottest rising female singers from Romania, and now Karmen has released another new single which we can’t stop listening to. Collaborating with Kishane for the “Lock My Hips” single, Karmen proves she’s a force to be reckoned with in the music world. A music video to accompany the song was also released days before the single dropped.
Karmen, real name Carmen Simionescu, daughter of well-known Romanian singer and actor Adrian Minune, has been going strong in her home country of Romania ever since she signed with Global Records who has INNA, Antonia, Carla’s Dreams, Delia, Irina Rimes, and The Motans, on its roster. This brand new single follows up her previous track “Shake It“. Her other singles include her addictive debut “You Got It”, follow-up “Minte-Ma”, and her collaboration with Achi “Viciul Meu”.
As for Krishane, whose real name is St Aubyn Antonio Levy, he is a Jamaican-born artist who currently resides in London, UK. He went viral when he collaborated with Klingande back in March on the track “Rebel Yell”. His debut single which saw him team up with Melissa Steel, titled “Drunk and Incapable”, saw him chart in the UK and Scotland at numbers 27 and 33, respectively. You may also know him from his songwriting credits, to which he is listed on Tinie Tempah’s songs “Not Letting Go (feat. Jess Glynne)” and “Mamacita (feat. Wizkid)”. We expect to see his name a lot more in the coming years.
This track’s lyrics were written by Krishane whilst the music was created by Vlad Lucan, Achi, and Krishane. The accompanying music video was directed by Daragiu. We can’t stop watching and listening to this.

The song is one of those tracks that you have to hear twice before it embeds itself inside your skull. It’s bringing grind to a whole new level incorporating the eurodance music of the 2010s with a Jamaican flare that is very in at the moment. What a song this is! Both artists nail it with Karmen bringing the much-needed provocative vocal to the track whilst Krishane impresses with his voice alone.
Lyrically this song is a total dance tune and the music video has certainly incorporated that. Karmen is looking similar to Antonia in this visual as she locks her hips, dances away, and brings the sex appeal. There’s no biting of her lips but it’s certainly implied as she flashes a gun over her shoulder while both artists stand atop a fire engine vehicle.
