Katy Perry has returned with the music video for the previously released single titled “Small Talk”. Though there hasn’t been any formal announcement yet, the ‘Roar’ singer probably has a new album on the way. The latest single “Small Talk” follows up the previous release by Perry in March, “Never Really Over” which was produced by EDM superstar Zedd and it displayed a surprisingly delightful new sonic and aesthetic direction.
Katy Perry teased the making of “Small Talk” with a behind-the-scenes look on Instagram on Monday. The pop star took to social media to make the official announcement about the official music video for “Small Talk”. The official music video for Perry’s latest single follows the release of the track’s Spotify vertical video earlier this month.
Directed by Tanu Muino, the eye-catchy music video was dropped on Friday, August 30 and, as promised, it is overloaded with cuteness. And the adorableness is brimming by a star appearance of her beloved micro teacup poodle, Miss Nugget Perry. Katy Perry, being an ultimate dog lover herself, is sharing the screen with a crowd of captivating canine co-stars. While the visuals continue, Katy Perry is shown embracing 70s styles floral prints while she spends some quality time with the pup in a candy-colored, retro-styled and 1960s-inspired suburban house filled with trophies before the action switches to the Mutt Ball, where the owners match up with their adorable pups.
The song has a very captivating vibe and proves to be an anthemic chorus, for the likes of Perry’s earlier release Roar. She sings, “We had conversations about forever now it’s about the weather OK/ I just can’t believe/ We went from strangers to lovers to strangers in a lifetime.”
Watch the “Small Talk” video below:
After Katy and Nugget beat all the dog owners and their lookalike dogs and win their trophy, a handsome man walks in with his pooch and Katy is smitten by love at first sight. The poor dog is left out until it makes a love connection with the man’s dog and they all live happily ever after.
Love is in the air!
Katy Perry’s latest album “Witness” was dropped in 2017 that featured a couple of chart breaking singles “Chained to the Rhythm,” “Bon Appétit,” and “Swish Swish”. Earlier this year, she also made a guest appearance in a Taylor Swift’s music video, dressed up as a burger, for the single “You Need to Calm Down,” symbolically squashing their longstanding beef.
