Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have climbed to the top of the UK Singles Chart with their duet ‘Shallow’, taken from their hit movie A Star Is Born.
The duo knocked Calvin Harris and Sam Smith’s ‘Promises’ from the top stop, with just over 1,200 combined sales between them.
‘Shallow’ marks Lady Gaga’s first UK number one in eight years. Her last stint at the top was back in 2010, when ‘Telephone’, her smash hit collaboration with Beyoncé, entered at number one.
The track is also Bradley’s first ever number one, making him the first Hollywood actor since Nicole Kidman to achieve a number one single. She previously topped the UK Singles Chart back in 2001 when she released ‘Somethin’ Stupid’ with Robbie Williams.
Lady Gaga and Bradley have also completed the chart double this week, as the soundtrack to their movie A Star Is Born has returned to the top of the UK Albums Chart. The soundtrack knocked Jess Glynne’s Always In Between from the top in order to claim its second week at number one.
Congratulations to the two on their incredible chart feat!
