If you’ve been waiting for your nightly fix of new Gaga performances, new merchandise and the chance to actually see your idol live, then it’s time to breathe. Little Monsters need worry no longer – Lady Gaga is officially back on tour.
Mother Monster kicked off the Joanne World Tour in Vancouver, Canada, last night, and unlike her previous concerts, the star remained tight-lipped over what to expect from the opening night, with fans speculating for months over the set list, stage and visuals.
Opening with Joanne intro Diamond Heart, Gaga went on to sing an array of hits from her new album, including fan-favourite Dancin’ In Circles. Of course, no Gaga show would be complete without Bad Romance, Telephone and Poker Face, but Gags also treated us to deep cuts from Born This Way and ARTPOP, performing both Scheiße and Bloody Mary.
The two-hour plus show also featured Perfect Illusion, John Wayne, Joanne, Paparazzi and new single The Cure, which came complete with some stunning new choreography.
Unlike previous shows, there was no opening act. Tour organisers have reportedly stated that, because of the complexity of the stage and the production, they could not find a way for a support act to play without revealing the stage before Gaga opened her show.
