Lana Del Rey has unveiled a new song called ‘Coachella – Woodstock In My Mind’.
Taking to social media earlier today, Lana shared a handwritten note in which she declared “what a blessing it is to make music in general and to have the freedom to put songs out about things that move me in real time.”
Lana revealed that, perhaps unsurprisingly, the song was written on her way back from Coachella last month. She also thanked her producer and engineers for turning the song around so quickly.
Despite sharing new music with us, she hasn’t completely forgotten about previous single, ‘Lust For Life’ featuring The Weeknd. Lana ended the note by saying the video with Starboy, his alter ego, is coming soon.

‘Coachella – Woodstock In My Mind’ is a sombre offering with a political undertone, as Lana reflects on people having the time of their lives at the festival, all the while there is tension and conflict around the world.
She teased the song on Instagram last month, informing fans of the inspiration behind the song. “I’m not gonna lie- I had complex feelings about spending the weekend dancing whilst watching tensions w North Korea mount. I find It’s a tightrope between being vigilantly observant of everything going on in the world and also having enough space and time to appreciate God’s good earth the way it was intended to be appreciated.”

The track follows the release of ‘Love’ and ‘Lust For Life’ featuring The Weeknd. Her album, also entitled Lust For Life, is due for release soon, although it is yet unknown if ‘Coachella – Woodstock In My Mind’ will make the final cut.
