Basheba makes a return with her sublime new track ‘Come Back To Me’. Inspired by the sounds of 90’s RnB and contemporary bass production, she has teamed up with producer XVR BLCK for the track.
Known for combining break beat and jungle rhythms in previous work, ‘Come Back To Me’ marks an evolution in sound for the young artist. Her lyrics are from the heart, and her soulful vocals stands out in her music. This has allowed her to translate effortlessly to other areas like alt pop and RnB.
‘Come Back To Me’ is a tale of lost love. Basheba’s vocals and RnB tinged melodies melt beautifully with chilled out synths. Speaking of the track, she said: “The basis of the song is trust and honesty. I wanted to pay homage to 90’s R&B using those swooping melodies in the chorus and sombre yet sweet production that sets the scene for the story.”
Basheba’s previous track ‘Don’t Go’ accumulated over 100,000 views on YouTube in its first two months. She has also garnered support from numerous platforms, with her tracks being championed by BBC Radio 1, 1 Xtra, Amazing Radio, Hoxton Radio, SBTV and 405.
The singer’s other highlights include a sync on SKY Sports, supporting Etta Bond live and being heavily supported by Mobo since featuring as one of their Unsung Top 10 last year.
We predict that the support for Basheba will continue to grow over the next few months, making her one to watch.
‘Come Back To Me’ is the first track to be taken from Basheba’s new experimental EP due for release later this summer.
