Ever since news dropped that alternative magazine Rock Sound would be releasing a tribute album to celebrate the tenth anniversary of My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade, fans have been waiting anxiously.

Some exciting names were featured on the track list, including Against the Current, Escape the Fate, and State Champs. However, the most highly anticipated cover on the tribute album was Twenty One Pilots’ cover of Cancer.

For the past few days, Rock Sound has been releasing teasers for some of the covers that appear on the album. Today, the magazine finally released a 30 second snippet of the Cancer cover, and it definitely got us excited for the full cover and rest of the album coming on Wednesday.

In terms of production, the band seems to have chosen a more subtle electronic vibe over the heavy, emotional piano instrumental in the original. Tyler’s voice is very soft and small, almost understated. We’re also quite curious as to how Josh will contribute to the cover with his drums. Overall, the little bit of the cover we’ve heard so far is enough to give us goosebumps!

Here are some of the best fan reactions on Twitter, under the hashtags #RockSoundMCR and #CryingCauseCancerCover.
