It’s been quite a long wait for this single to be released since it was first announced, but finally, Loïc Nottet has dropped his new single “Heartbreaker”. This song follows up his 2019 Halloween EP Candy.
Loïc Nottet is best known for representing Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song “Rhythm Inside”, where he placed fourth with 217 points. Prior to Eurovision, he was a contestant on the third season of The Voice Belgique, where he came second; as for after Eurovision, he was a contestant on the sixth season of Danse avec les stars (the French version of Dancing With The Stars / Strictly Come Dancing), where he went on to win the show. He dropped his debut album Selfocracy in March 2017 which gained critical acclaim and was also named as one of our favourite albums of 2017. Recently, he’s been on fire with a brand new era, with the singles “On Fire” and “29” which this new single is a part of. He released a Halloween side project in the form of an EP and music video film, both titled Candy, which followed up his previous Halloween single release “Doctor“.
According to Spotify, the song has been written by Alex Germys, Amy Morrey, and Loïc Nottet, whilst it has been produced by Alex Germys and SkyDancers. Out of all Loïc Nottet’s recent releases for this era, we have to say that we absolutely adore this track and it is totally the best one so far. It has a disco and groove-influenced vibes going on throughout this up-tempo number with some funk beats added to the pop track, with Loïc Nottet’s vocals sounding totally impressive, as usual. The lyrics paint a picture of the first moments of being in love with someone, and the spirit and excitement of that moment but also how people can have their doubts and not wanting to jump into something so quickly just to get your heartbroken.
