Last month Maggie Lindemann released her dark-pop single Human, now she’s back this time with stripped-back ballad Would I.
When poppy Pretty Girl was released in 2016 it saw Maggie thrust into the limelight due to it going viral and led to a tour with The Vamps along with a feature on their track Personal. This, in turn, led to her own new solo single Obsessed before the Halloween inspired Human followed. Would I shows a new side to the singer, it’s one of the most open and honest tracks fans have been treated to from her. Opening up about her struggles with mental health and depression, the emotive track gives fans a real insight into a dark period of Maggie’s life.
This sombre track opens up with a delicate guitar line which makes the perfect backing for Maggie Lindemann’s haunting vocals. Speaking out about struggles is never easy but we completely applaud making mental health a less stigmatised topic through acts such as this song. Throughout the track ‘everything is never enough‘ is repeated this simple line packs a spine-tingling punch.
With such a beautiful track is bound to come to a great video to match, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for it in the coming weeks. We hope 2019 brings more musical delights from Maggie Lindemann and maybe the new release she’s been teasing…
