Max & Harvey fans are going to need their tissues at the ready for the duo’s latest single ‘In My DNA’.
The twins’ new track is a tribute to their grandfather, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
On ‘In My DNA’, Max & Harvey chart their relatives life story in a tribute to how he’s touched their lives.
The brothers said: “This song means more to us than anything we’ve ever put out into the world.
“We wanted to tell our Granpop’s story and talk about his life and it took us a long time to work out the perfect way to do that.
“Whilst writing the song we also had in the back of our minds, the sad fact that our Grandma had been diagnosed with cancer.
“Sadly she recently passed away, but we were able to play her this song before we lost her, and when she heard it she started to cry.
“The fact that she knew right away exactly what the song was about meant a lot to us, and we’re so sad she couldn’t be around to see the world hear it.”
‘In My DNA’ marks Max & Harvey’s first release of 2021 and follow’s last year’s timely ‘Worry A Little Less’.
The X Factor Celebrity contestants have spent the last year working on new music from their home.
With “loads of new music” promised to be in the pipeline, Max & Harvey are also heading on tour later this year.
The 10-date trip beings on August 11th in Glasgow and runs until August 23rd when it will close in Southampton.
Max siad: “We’ve missed touring so so much and can’t wait to get back on the road.
“We can guarantee that it’s going to be the best one yet, with loads of new music and the most energy and planning we’ve ever put into a tour.
“It’s genuinely the best feeling to be able to perform our songs to people that love listening to them.”
