He’s been teasing it for years, and finally, it is here, Mike Williams’ awesome remake version of Trans-X’s 1983 hit single “Living On Video”, featuring DTale. Mike Williams teased the track just a month ago at Ultra Music Festival’s Jacked Stage, which sent a huge atmospheric buzz to all attendees. The track is the follow-up to his collaboration with Afrojack, titled “Alone”.

Mike Williams, real name Mike Willemsen, is a Dutch DJ, record producer, remixer, and musician. His breakthrough hit came in 2017 when he collaborated with Felix Jaehn on the track “Feel Good”, which has amassed 156 million Spotify streams and, at the time of release, charted in Germany and Austria, making it his second most-streamed track to date, behind his original collaboration with R3HAB, titled “Lullaby”, which has over 200 million streams, the track of which got a 2023 reinvention. “Wait Another Day” with Mesto and “The Beat” follow close behind with 97 million and 75 million, respectively. He has performed at the likes of Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Parookaville, World Club Dome, and Mysteryland, and has even toured in the likes of China, Taiwan, Nepal, Croatia, and Switzerland, as well as the US, Canada, and various countries in Europe and Asia.

As for DTale, real name Daniel Pearce, he is an established rising artist who has been gaining popularity in recent years. He has lent his voice to an entire range of songs that have been launched successfully, going on to achieve 1.5 billion total streams across platforms. An absolute killer voice paired with his upbeat and positive attitude is certainly what makes DTale someone to keep a close watch on, as he’ll be hitting the official charts around the world in no time.

Written by Pascal Languirand, and produced by Mike Williams, Ward van der Harst, and Willem van Hanegem, “Living On Video” is completely distinctive, paying homage to the original by Trans-X – how could you not – while adding his own spin on it. Mike Williams does not hold back, pumping it with current electronic beats whilst distorting the incredible vocals by DTale so that the focus is on the raging melody that always guarantees to be stuck in one’s head. Bringing a nostalgic feeling to everyone who hears this track, making it the perfect song to add to our party playlists.

Talking about the track, Mike Williams said: “I’ve been playing multiple versions of this track for more than four years. The melody always does so well live. Everyone knows it from something, even not knowing the title or original artist. Very happy to finally release this version from ‘Living On Video’.”

This isn’t the first time “Living On Video” by Trans-X has been sampled, quite a few popular songs and artists have sampled the track over the years, hence why Mike Williams is creating nostalgic vibes with this track for many different people. Tracks that have sampled the original include “J’adore Hardcore” by Scooter, “Sex Love Rock N Roll” by Arash featuring T-Pain, version 2 of “Love Sees No Colour” by U96, “Living In Cyberspace” by 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor, “Tu Tatuta Tuta Ta” by Pin-Occhio, “One Last Dance” by Cascada & Trans-X, and “Robots” by Kate Ryan, amongst many more.
