In news set to devastate Road Trip fans across the world, Mikey Cobban has announced his departure from the band.
Taking to his official Instagram account to share the news with his followers, he explained that he felt that now was ‘the right time to leave the band.’
In the statement, he also took the time to thank fans of the band – better known as ‘Roadies’ – for their support during his time in the band, who have supported the band with their single and EP releases, tours and much more. Additionally, he also thanked the band’s management company, also thanking the remaining members of the band – Andy Fowler, Ryan (Rye) Beaumont, Brooklyn Wyatt and Jack Duff – wishing them ‘the best in every endeavour.’
The remaining four members addressed the departure on their official Instagram account, with their explaining that ‘the pages of the book turn again, but they do not end.’
The reason given for his departure was due to personal circumstances, with him wanting to spend more precious time with his family.
The band also unveiled a video on to their official YouTube Channel, echoing what was shared in relation to their official statements. Following the release of the news of his departure, fans took to social media to share both their shock and heartbreak at the news.
Since joining the band in late 2015, Mikey has been a crucial member of the band, also helping many fans through difficult times. His talent, vocals and personality made him a fundamental part of Road Trip and his departure marks a brand new chapter for the band, with rumours rife as to whether a new member will join the existing line-up.
