Last night the MOBOs turned 20, and of course they did it in style.
For 20 years now the MOBOs has been pivotal in the recognition, celebration and promotion of Music Of Black Origin in the UK, and across the globe, Giving artists and sounds a platform that they may ordinarily not reach.
Celebrating music from all over the world, it wasn’t long before UK talent, not only broke through, but rightly, at its own merit, smashed through. The MOBOs now seen as a showcase of British talent.Bringing many artists that we know today to the forefront, artists like Rudamental, Sam Smith, Wiley, Skepta, N-Dubz, Ella Eyre, the list past and present goes on and on.
Last night was no different, with performances from Lethal Bizzle, Ella Eyre, Krept and Konan, Naughty Boy, Rita Ora, FKA Twigs and many more, many of which recognise the MOBOs as playing some role in their success. Proving that preforming or being nominated for an award, is just as much of an acknowledgment as winning is.
This years winners see a wealth of British talent awarded for their achievements in music this year.
