Following up from last month’s single ‘Liquify‘, Mood Killer serves up their latest pop disrupting track ‘Cam Boy’.
Their most pop sounding record to date, ‘Cam Boy’ sees Mood Killer dismantle the ideas behind life on the job as a ‘cam boy’ on the sex-positive anthem. The second single from Mood Killer’s upcoming debut EP Liquify, out on July 5th, it’s the latest taste of a creator moving in all the right circles.
Landing with a playful music video, conceptualised with ever-present creative partners Dorian Electra and Weston Allen, Mood Killer frolics in a dystopian cyber world. “I wanted to destigmatize webcamming and sex work and show that the relationship between worker and client can be empowering and complex”, Killer elaborates.
“I also wanted to use webcamming as a metaphor for how the internet has shaped our relationship with our own image. With Instagram and Facebook everyone knows they’re being looked at 24/7 and their behaviour and presentation is affected by the knowledge of that.”
Having spent a large part of 2018 on the road across the U.S.A. and Europe with Charli XCX and Dorian Electra, Mood Killer is a leading name in an exciting group of new genre-bending mines. Now, as July 5th approaches, they prepare to stride into the spotlight on the upcoming Liquify EP.
