Portland, Oregon-based pop artist Lo Lytes, aka Jameson Morris, joins forces with pop singer Alana Rich on their brand-new single, “Light the Way.”
Blending silky-smooth textures of nu-disco with pop savors, “Light the Way” is about rising above negativity, encouraging authenticity, and moving into a higher vibration.
Lo Lytes’ previous singles – “Losing My Mind,” “Devil You Know,” and “Fuck With My Heart – have collectively amassed one million streams on Spotify alone.
On her part, Alana Rich began singing when she was 14, performing acoustic music, and releasing covers on YouTube. Her sultry, unique voice collected more than one million views. Since then, both her voice and her sound have evolved, leading to performances at Portland Fashion Week, the Portland Fashion and Style Awards, Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, and being featured in Nylon Magazine. She’s shared the stage with Jojo, Michelle Branch, Hot Chelle Rae, Arnel Pineda of Journey, and Richard Marx.
Although her sound is definitely danceable, Alana’s deep lyricism sets her apart from the run-of-the-mill pop artists.
According to Alana, “Before I started songwriting and performing, I was always writing poetry. I like to think of my songs as my word-thoughts enveloped in the liberating feeling that dance-pop music often renders.”
“Light the Way” opens with Alana’s plush, sensual tones riding a contagious, potent rhythm full of vibrancy. Gleaming washes of harmonic colors give the tune creamy, scintillating layers as Alana’s crème de la crème voice imbues the lyrics with warm, voluptuous timbres. Alana’s voice is undeniably one of the best extant, lush, velvety, and oh so deliciously nuanced.
Aglow with luscious flavors of nu-disco and alluring pop aromas, as superb as the music is, the icing on the sonic cake of “Light the Way” is the voice of Alana Rich.
