Dance-pop duo Split Kick introduces their brand-new single, “Fantasy,” a song blending elements of funk, house, contemporary pop, and hints of disco into a sultry dance floor anthem.
Talking about the track, Split Kick explains, “We wanted to create a minimalistic tune that pumps hard for the DJs, while also adding something unique and interesting with the vocals. ‘Fantasy’ feels like that classic late-night banger that gets you through to your second wind.”
Made up of Andrew Corbin and Pete Neonakis, Split Kick’s genesis grew out of a chance encounter between the two artists on the neon-drenched streets of Busan, South Korea.
Bonding over their mutual love for the nostalgic sounds of the ‘70s and ‘80s, as well as their shared passion for creating high-energy music, Split Kick wasted no time in developing their own unique style while also staying relevant to the ever-evolving trends of pop music.
In 2020, Split Kick dropped “Dangerous Love,” followed by a series of captivating singles over the next two years, including “Nightwalker,” “Victim of a Crime,” “Panama,” “Magnetic Sexuality,” “So In Love,” “Cupid,” and “Money Man.”
“Fantasy” opens on a thumping mid-tempo rhythm capped by a throbbing, subterranean bassline, and vibrating retro-flavored synths. A swooshing plaster of sound introduces delicious, spectral-colored falsetto voices, imbuing the lyrics with smoldering, erotic timbres.
Click-clacking percussive accents add trembling textures, adding voluptuous tension. Rushing and whirling, the drop shifts the harmonic flow and then elevates to fat, mesmerizing layers of synths and bass.
Thrumming with seeping sensuality, “Fantasy” carries listeners onto dark dance floors awash in luscious, sexual energy.
