After what feels like an eternity, CelebMix favourite Neon Hitch has finally returned to the music scene with the release of her debut album Anarchy.
Announcing a crowdfunding campaign, exclusively premiering a new single through CelebMix and then scrapping the release of Eleutheromaniac all together, it’s fair to say that being a Neon fan has been hard going over the past couple of years. We’ve wanted nothing for the best for our Gypsy Queen since day one, so finally getting our hands on some brand new material really is a dream come true. The wait? Worth it.
Below, we’ve rounded up five of our favourites from Neon’s new album. Prepare for some eargasms.
5. Please
We got our hands on Please last month and it has not been out of our playlists since. It’s raw, emotional and everything that Neon does best.
4. Razorblade
Another tear-jerker, Razorblade tells the story of Neon battling with a lover. Despite a slow start, the song builds into something pretty-damn-amazing.
3. Anarchy
Neon’s debut sees her go in a brand new direction. Gone are the days of Get Over U and Fuck U Better – Neon is urban! Anarchy, the title-track, is one that really doesn’t leave your head once you hear it. You ready!?
2. Neighborhood
As soon as we watched the behind the scenes clip of Neighborhood, we knew it would be one of our favourites. Not only was it amazing to see how Neon writes her music, but the hook got us instantly. The result? Something truly unique and truly Neon. If rumours are to be believed, Neighborhood will be served as a single with a more uptempo remix, and we’re so ready.
1. Why
We have no words. The moment we heard Why, we knew we’d be hooked. Fresh, sexy and everything we love about Neon, we’re lowkey hoping this track will be single material.
Anarchy is available on iTunes now.
