For two decades, The One Show has been a staple of British television, bringing together celebrity interviews, inspiring human-interest stories and live moments that have become part of the nation’s daily viewing routine. Now, the beloved BBC programme is preparing to celebrate its landmark 20th anniversary with a week of special episodes packed with familiar faces, surprise reunions and unforgettable moments.

    The One Show

Since launching in 2006, The One Show has established itself as one of the BBC’s flagship programmes, attracting millions of viewers each weekday evening with its unique mix of entertainment, current affairs and stories from communities across the UK. Alongside major celebrity interviews and exclusive performances, the show has become known for highlighting the people and events shaping life across all four nations.

The anniversary celebrations will be led by regular hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, who will front a week of commemorative programmes from the studio. They will be joined by the wider presenting team, including Clara Amfo, Angellica Bell, JB Gill, Vernon Kay and Lauren Laverne, as the series looks back on some of its most memorable moments while catching up with stories that have resonated with audiences over the past 20 years.

The special episodes will also see familiar faces reporting live from locations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, revisiting some of the programme’s most talked-about features and discovering what has happened since viewers first met the people behind them.

Viewers can also expect a host of live broadcasts from landmark events around the UK and beyond. Highlights include coverage from the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, Ireland’s largest celebration of traditional music and culture, as well as a look at the rare partial solar eclipse set to sweep across the country during the anniversary week.

The celebrations will culminate on Friday, August 14th with an extended One Big Night to Remember special. The anniversary event promises appearances from some of the biggest stars to have featured on the programme, alongside iconic moments, emotional stories and memorable highlights from The One Show‘s remarkable 20-year history.

As it reaches this significant milestone, The One Show continues to prove why it remains one of the BBC’s most enduring and popular programmes, celebrating the stories, people and cultural moments that have brought viewers together every weekday evening for the past two decades.
