The first trailer for the new series of Doctor Who, which will see Jodie Whittaker take over as the 13th Doctor, is set to drop during the World Cup final this Sunday on the BBC.
Whittaker was announced in July last year to be filling Capaldi’s shoes as the Time Lord (soon to be Time Lady), becoming the first female Doctor. Almost a year down the line, and we are about to get our first glimpse of the new Doctor in action.
The official Doctor Who Twitter account teased fans with the news yesterday saying:
The #WorldCup may not be coming home but the TARDIS is on its way.

With the new showrunner, Chris Chibnall, taking over from Steven Moffat, the popular sci-fi show has undergone a complete makeover, allowing for a fresh start in the upcoming series. There will not only be a new logo, TARDIS and opening sequence but also longer episodes for fans to enjoy.
Who fans across the pond are set to find out even more about the new series at San Diego Comic-Con next Thursday (July 19th) where the new star of the show (Whittaker) will be joined by two of her co-stars Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole as well as executive producer Matt Strevens and Chris Chibnall for a panel, officially introducing the new Doctor to the world.
Series 11 is set to air on BBC One this Autumn.
