Three-piece band New Rules are back with their latest release, ‘Go The Distance’, via Elektra Records/Parlophone.

Produced by Sir Nolan (Selena Gomez, Tate McRae, Shawn Mendes) and co-produced and co-written with Kieran Shudall of Circa Waves, ‘Go The Distance’ embodies New Rules’ trademark feel-good anthemic sound, whilst incorporating glossy synths, handclaps and a slick bass line. The hopeful lyrics speak of a love so strong, it can overcome any distance.

We just gotta hold on, won’t be long til we’re we’re back dancing in the kitchen
Hand on my heart, I won’t let you go
Yeah we just gotta hold on, won’t be long, gotta stay strong cos god knows I miss ya
Wherever you are, I won’t let you go, we’ll go the distance

Speaking about the track, New Rules said: “The phrase, ‘go the distance,’ means a few things for us—it’s a theme we’ve touched on before and seems even more relevant now. We deal with distance when we’re on the road and we’re away from our loved ones. We also hope our new music goes the distance—to number one maybe!”

Check out the official lyric video for ‘Go The Distance’ below.

New Rules is made up of Alec McGarry (vocals, guitar), Nathan Lambert (vocals, guitar), and Ryan Meaney (vocals, guitar). The London-based trio burst onto the scene in 2019 with singles ‘Call It’ and ‘Fix Somebody’, before enjoying viral success with tracks ‘Pasta’ and ‘Emily’. The group have continued to garner a loyal fanbase by supporting artists including Julia Michaels, Little Mix, and Picture This, without forgetting their own sold out headline tours.

Just last year, New Rules announced their signing to Elektra Records/Parlophone and followed up with further bops ‘Really Wanna Dance With You’ and ‘Cheers’. They also released a name songs EP earlier this year which sparked viral interest on TikTok.

Writing and co-producing their own material, New Rules combine high energy with relatable lyrics, irresistible melodies and an electric sound which deserves to be heard in stadiums. The trio are growing from strength to strength and their quest for global domination continues this summer with two sold out debut headline shows in New York and Los Angeles.

‘Go The Distance’ is available to download and stream now.
