One Direction member, Niall Horan, took the world by surprise last week when he announced his solo project and released his debut single, ‘This Town‘. It was to no surprise however, that the single would take the world by storm. As a matter of fact, with the single only being released for not even a week yet, Niall has already set a new record!
Horan has always said that he has the best fans in the world and he is not wrong. ‘This Town’ has stayed at number one since its release and has earned Niall the title of being the first solo artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard Social 50 Chart! The chart’s methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views and engagement.
That is incredible for Niall! The single was so unexpected and has been the talk amongst the media ever since its debut so it makes complete sense on how it was able to debut at #1. The song has only seen a couple of days of sales and airplay and it is already climbing up the charts. This is such a huge accomplishment for Niall and is so well deserved.
