Nina Nesbitt has released her new single Black & Blue, the track sees the singer-songwriting embracing the negative comments which have been aimed her way and using them to create a powerful body of work. A deluxe version of her album, The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change & The Flowers Will Fall is set for release on November 15th.
With social media becoming increasingly popular by the day, this can come at a price especially if you’re in the spotlight as Nina knows all too well. When teasing the release of the Black & Blue, Nina posted an eyeopening compilation video of messages she’s previously received which helped to provide inspiration.
The piano-led track sees all the focus on Nina’s powerful vocals as she opens up about her experience of negative comments being thrown her way and how the impact they can have. Vocally is where Nina excels time and time again with her recognisable style through relatable lyrics such as ‘I can’t seem to let it go until I’m black and blue‘. As the track progresses Nina continues to sing ‘I’ve got these dreams, I’ve got this vision. My mind won’t give me the permission‘ as she highlights the self-doubt we all have and battle to prevent winning. Speaking of the track she said, “It’s about being your own worst enemy and the voice inside your head that constantly makes you doubt yourself.” We have to say a big thank you to the haters who helped and inspired Nina to create this incredible track and hopefully helped her come out stronger on the other side.
Nina will be performing at Electric Ballroom on December 10th. This special ‘The Flowers Will Fall‘ show will close The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change era which has seen Nina’s career reach new heights taking her to US and Australia in the process.
