Omar Rudberg has confirmed that his version of The Pointer Sisters hit ‘I’m So Excited’ will hit streaming platforms on Friday.
The Young Royals star performed the cover at the QX Gay Gala earlier this year and the video of Rudberg’s performance had fans swooning on social media.
The singer turned the track into a smooth jazzy number before breaking into the feelgood chorus as industry figures including fellow Netflix actor Edvin Ryding watched on.
Rudberg shared the news of the release on his Instagram stories on Monday with record label Ten Music Grop adding that the decision to release the version came “by popular demand”.
The 24-year-old also performed a version of ‘Simon’s Song’ at the Swedish event, the track of course famously soundtracking Young Royals Season 2.
In that performance, Ryding also made an appearance in the trademark Hillerska school uniform.
Omar Rudberg was named as one of CelebMix’s Ones to Watch for 2023 after a breakthrough 2022 which saw the release of his debut album OMR.
This year looks set to be full of new music with the star currently recording in Los Angeles as well as a third and final season of Young Royals.
