Hot on the heels of their latest single ‘Wanted’, OneRepublic have released a new song called ‘Somebody To Love’.
The track is the latest success story from NBC’s Songland, an American songwriting programme which aims to shine a light on some of the best undiscovered songwriters out there.
‘Somebody To Love’ was the brainchild of songwriter JT Roach. With a little production from Shane McAnally, the track was pitched to OneRepublic. After capturing the attention of frontman Ryan Tedder, it was chosen as the worthy winner.
Now, OneRepublic have recorded and released the song, and it looks set to be another smash hit for the band. Upon its release, the track climbed its way to number one on the US iTunes chart.
Although this is the first time the band have taken on an outside song, the track is very much in keeping with OneRepublic’s trademark anthem style. This is their first real relationship song since ‘Apologize’ too, so it’s great to hear that side of them once more.
Take a listen to ‘Somebody To Love’ below.
‘Somebody To Love’ follows on from OneRepublic’s latest smash release ‘Wanted’ and their earlier 2019 hit ‘Rescue Me’. Their new era of music is proving to be their most exciting yet, and we can’t wait to hear what else they have in store for us.
