On Tuesday, October 24th, Imagine Dragons (Dan Reynolds, Ben Mckee, Wayne Sermon, and Daniel Platzman) made tons of people a “Believer” at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, spreading love and equality throughout their set. After all, the tour is called the Evolve Tour. <3
Before singing “Demons”, Dan Reynolds talked about how mental illnesses are stigmatized when they shouldn’t be, and how depression never held him back.
“Depression never held me back from that,” Dan shared. “My therapist is an incredible human being who is my friend, who is wise. If you or anyone you know is suffering from depression first and foremost, I love you. You are not alone in this. I am here with you. There are millions of people around the world who are here with you and who go on to accomplish wonderful, wonderful things.”
He continued saying, “Reach out to friends, to family. See a therapist, some of the most wise people and powerful people I know. See a therapist. You should not be worried or be afraid. It does not show weakness. It shows strength, great strength. So may we continue to grow together and may we continue to destigmatize depression and anxiety.
