British singer-songwriter Jamie Lee Harrison premieres a new music video on CelebMix. Entitled “Powerful,” the track accumulated more than 100,000 streams on Spotify.
Born and raised in Newcastle, during 2017 Harrison performed on national TV, took off on a headline tour, and released his single “Reflection,” which garnered vast acclaim.
The video, directed by Dan Charles and Harrison, was shot in Newcastle Upon Tyne in austere black and white visuals that enhance and intensify the video’s depiction of surmounting obstacles through confidence and belief in one’s innate ability.
“Powerful” opens with Harrison’s rich and potent voice riding on a delicate piano. After the intro, the tune ramps up into a measured pop melody of coruscating colors. A heavy bass line and thumping kick drum invest the rhythm with booming might. Surfacing orchestral hues infuse the tune with sweeping harmonics, expansive and declarative.
