During his recent Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, Sam Smith was given the surprise of his life.
It’s no secret that Sam is a self-confessed Harmonizer – that’s right, he absolutely loves Fifth Harmony. Speaking to James, he said “when I hear them, I feel free. I feel alive, I feel like the woman in me is on fire”. Admitting that he listens to ‘Work From Home’ every time before he goes out, he also declared that he wants it as a wedding song and to walk down the aisle to it in heels.
After unveiling his plans to have a funeral for his single self before he gets married, Sam made James laugh with his crazy ideas before the pair began to sing ‘Work From Home’. However, a little something was missing. Once James pulled in to make a quick phone call, the girls of Fifth Harmony appeared and made their way to the car, causing Sam to utterly freak out and announce ‘I’m dead!’ The adoration was mutual, with both Sam and Ally Brooke declaring that the moment was a dream.
To make things even better, Sam, Fifth Harmony and James delivered a sassy performance of ‘Work From Home’ in the car. Complete with some fierce dance moves, it’s safe to say that we definitely need a Sam/5H collab in our lives.
Prior to the girls arriving, Sam performed some of his most well known songs with James, including ‘No Good At Goodbyes’, ‘Lay Me Down’, ‘I’m Not The Only One’, ‘Money On My Mind’, and ‘Stay With Me’. There are plenty of beautiful harmonies, with the pair showcasing their best vocals.
Sam also spoke about how he sees himself in ten years time and how James was one of the first celebrities to draw attention to one of his tracks. He also chatted about getting starstruck, skipping school to go to a Lady Gaga concert and one night stands.
