The CMA Foundation have launched the It Starts With M.E Campaign in order to protect music education in schools across the US and the world. A number of singers, songwriters, producers and music industry insiders are already on board and the latest star to join the campaign is the American Country sensation Sarah Darling.

I started singing at age 4. It’s so important for kids to have music in their life to connect to one another, heal and to spark imagination. It could be the start of a lifetime of a passion. It starts with music education. It Starts With M.E. ?@CMAfoundation #itstartswithme pic.twitter.com/8NDR0WyM32

For over a decade, the Country Music community has helped the CMA Foundation raise more than $21 million which has been invested into over 87 music education programs across all 50 states in the US. By creating a shared public awareness for equity in music education, and also providing funding and resources, those who work alongside the CMA Foundation share the message that every child has a right to a quality music education.

While the CMA itself is dedicated to bringing the joy, poetry and emotion of Country Music to children all over the world: “We will continue the tradition of leadership and professionalism, promoting the music, and recognizing excellence in all its forms. While fostering a spirit of community and sharing, we will respect and encourage creativity and the unique contributions of all. CMA will be a place to have fun and celebrate success. We will take risks, embrace change, and always exceed the expectations of those we serve”.

Sarah Darling enjoyed music education while she attended school and credits that for allowing her to express her emotions through song and describes music as “healing for the soul”.

The singer whose new album ‘Wonderland‘ will be released March 1st, also states that it’s “not always about making it” for kids involved in music at school, it can be an outlet for whatever they may be struggling with at home.
