The latest phenomenal instalment of the Bond series, Spectre, has finally been released on DVD. Fans all over the world can now relive the mind-blowing thrills again and again till their hearts are content and judging by how brilliantly entertaining the movie was, we know that won’t be any time soon!
So in honour of its DVD release, here are the top 7 moments in Spectre! And yes, the shortlisting was agonising.
1. THE GUN BARREL SEQUENCE
Boy were we glad to see the classic gun-barrel sequence opening the film! The last two movies have featured this tradition at the end of the movie and while it worked, fans requested it opening the movie rather than closing.
The gun barrel was spectacularly done in Casino Royale too. Take a look.
2.THE OPENING SCENE
We think you would agree that the opening scene, was a true work of art. The scene shows Bond making his way through Mexico City’s day of the dead, and might we say, the scene flows as smoothly as Bond himself. From walking through the crowd, to entering a hotel and then proceeding to climb out of a window and walking from roof to roof, each and every movement is like a dance. And in combination with those delightful costumes and the well paired music, the perfect opening scene was made, full of mystery, charm and suspense.
3. BOND’S APARTMENT
We finally see Bond’s apartment in Spectre! We’ve not been given the privilege of seeing this in any of Craig’s Bond movies prior to this and it is in fact rather fitting. This movie brings forth James’s personal life and seeing his apartment makes this even clearer. Stocked with the bare-minimum, it is probably equally as mysterious as the owner himself.
4. DENCH’S CAMEO
Probably the best kept secret in this movie was Judi Dench’s cameo. Her scene puts the entire movie into swing and introduces motive, while providing James with vital information.
5. TRAIN FIGHT
Dave Bautista and Daniel Craig’s fight was undeniably thrilling. The throw down begins abruptly and rather unexpectedly, making it all the more fantastic.
6. TERRIFYING TORTURE
A very different form of torture is used by Oberhauser. Drilling into Bond’s head using needles, this has to be one of the most painful scenes to watch but this made the escape scene all the more fulfilling.
7. THE CAR CHASE
A car chase through Rome and the Vatican city, what could get better than that. Featuring the latest and greatest Aston Martin, the scene is intense, grand and everything else you’d want in a car chase.
