Steve Aoki & Ina Wroldsen Collaborate On New Single “Lie To Me”

Are you ready for another global hit sensation to hit the world with Ina Wroldsen’s iconic vocals? Well, we sure are, and here she is again collaborating with a DJ, ready to hit charts globally, again. She’s teamed up with legendary DJ Steve Aoki for this addictive new single, titled “Lie To Me”. The song follows up Steve Aoki’s “Shakalaka” which was a collaboration with Deorro, MAKJ, and Max Styler; as for Ina Wroldsen, this follows up her HEX EP which contained the tracks “Sea“, “Remember Me“, “Mine“, and “Mother“.

Steve Aoki is one of the biggest DJs in the world and rightly so as he has earned that title, having gone on to collaborate with a world of stars including BTS, Louis Tomlinson, Afrojack, Iggy Azalea, Linkin Park, and Kid Ink, amongst many others. He has also done a variety of remixes, both of his own tracks and of global superstars, so we expect nothing less than a brilliant masterpiece of a track; and with Ina Wroldsen on this track too, it comes as no surprise that we can’t stop listening to this song.

Ina Wroldsen has been fighting for a music career for many years. She made her name known in the songwriting world having written amazing tracks for the likes of The Saturdays, INNA, Anne-Marie, Clean Bandit, and Olly Murs. She wrote the following hits: Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye” featuring Anne-Marie & Sean Paul, Clean Bandit’s “Symphony” featuring Zara Larsson, Anne-Marie’s “Alarm”, Jess Glynne’s “Hold My Hand”, Shontelle’s “Impossible” which was later covered by James Arthur, and Cobra Starship’s “You Make Me Feel…” featuring Sabi. She was also the uncredited vocalist on Calvin Harris & Disciples’ track “How Deep Is Your Love” before becoming the featured vocalist on Martin Solveig’s and Jax Jones’ chart-hitting songs “Places” and “Breathe”, respectively. She hasn’t released a song with a DJ since those two singles, so it’s about time we had another Ina Wroldsen track storming the clubs, not that all three already do. She recently signed under Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco, where she managed to drop her debut EP, titled HEX – if you haven’t listened to it yet, then you’ve been missing out. She’s been a force to be reckoned with in the songwriting world, now she’s becoming a force to be reckoned with in the singing world.

It’s true, we have another banging club hit on our hands; however it’s more of a grower than an instant hit, reminding us more of Martin Solveig’s “Places” due to catchiness rather than Jax Jones’ “Breathe” or even Calvin Harris & Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love”. The song was written by Bård Mathias Bonsaksen, Ina Christine Wroldsen, Matthew Thomas Paul Holmes, Philip Anthony Leigh, Steve Aoki, and Trevor Dahl. We can only hope that a music video will appear sometime soon, but for now, we can’t stop listening to this.

Stream Steve Aoki & Ina Wroldsen’s New Single “Lie To Me” Here:

True to Steve Aoki’s style, we get an extremely complex backing track that just completely works with brilliant drops that match Ina Wroldsen’s voice and amazing loop arrangements. However, the chorus does remind us a bit of Jax Jones’ “Breathe“, to the extent where we can see someone creating a mash-up of the two – that would definitely be epic. “Lie To Me” would certainly get us all on the dancefloor.

As usual, Ina Wroldsen’s vocals are on point throughout; she’s connected with the song passionately and emotionally, and that is clear from the very start. The lyrics paint a story where Ina Wroldsen’s partner is ready to walk out of the door because they’ve grown apart, but she’s begging her love interest to stay, to lie to her, to make this work; and her voice alone is perfection for this song, but she just unleashes her power and it’s made this track even more incredible. She’s definitely an underrated artist who is slowly rising to the top.

“Lie To Me” is available to download and stream right now, through Ultra Records. It’s definitely going to be a summer hit, so be the first to hear it because it will be a scorcher.
