It’s time to rewind all the way back to June when Steve Grand released his single “Walking“. It is still his most-recently released single, and came with the announcement that his second studio album was on its way – it still is, on its way, but still no release date, not yet. Now, he has released the music video, five months later, and we absolutely adore it!
The scenes were filmed in May, with Steve Grand having this whole idea behind it; but, it clearly didn’t come together as he had hoped. However, who cares about that? What we have got instead is something fun, cheery, and upbeat, just like the song. It includes behind-the-scenes clips that allow fans to see Steve Grand in a light that many of us have not seen before.
The music video was directed by John Lavin, with the directors of photography being Chris Alcazar and Brendan Leahy. There are also some dance sequences involved, thanks to choreographer Shanna VanDerwerker – it’s so good to see Steve Grand nailing some choreography! There is a bunch of extras including The Caramel Curves, Coco and Hoodpriss, and the two backing dancers, Kenway Kua and Alejandro Fonseca; then, there’s Steve Grand’s love interest Mitch Mathias.
In the description of the video, Steve Grand says: “Happy almost-Thanksgiving, guys! Here is the lost-but-not-forgotten ‘Walking’ Music Video we shot in New Orleans all the way back in May! My original idea didn’t quite pan out, but John Lavin (Director and Editor) did an amazing job with a lot of the silliness we captured! And after thinking on it for the last few months, I’ve decided a lot of you would probably still get a kick out of all the fun and behind the scenes silliness we had on the single day we shot all of this ;) So here is our cornucopia of crazy just in times for Thanksgiving! :D”
He went on to say: “I want to thank the folks at Mr. S Leather, and the folks at Pure For Men, for helping to make this video possible!”
Watch Steve Grand’s Music Video For “Walking” Here:
The music video shows a lot of behind-the-scenes clips which reminds us of the “Lyric Video” that he released earlier in the year, but instead, these clips are much more recent and have a very fun spin to them.
We can certainly see the narrative clips; we presume, that these clips would’ve been part of a much bigger story – something similar to his past videos “Time” or “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. Instead, we have this joyous montage of video clips that certainly entertains all of the viewers.
There is also a performance piece intercut throughout that definitely allows us to see what Steve Grand is like on stage. He clearly has a lot of fun energy, which is really a side we haven’t seen much of unless you count the music video for “Stay”.
Other clips include dance rehearsal, which looks awkward yet hilarious; the biker scene with The Caramel Curves; and, of course, we can’t forget about the Steve Grand merchandise scenes. Every item of his merch that you buy helps him to fund his second studio album that we are all waiting patiently for, so buy from his official store right now.
