Thalía rose to fame last year as a contestant on the ninth season of Spanish talent show Operación Triunfo, where she reached the fourth Gala of the competition finishing in 14th place after facing the public vote against Cepeda. Although not in the Academy for long, Thalía still gave us some memorable performances including her renditions of Ariana Grande’s “Break Free” and Malú’s “Cenizas”. As well as this, she performed duets with Raoul, Nerea and Miriam.

Operación Triunfo was a massive success in Spain last year with millions of viewers tuning in to each gala to watch the contestants performances and get there chance to vote for their favourites. After the show, the sixteen contestants who made it into the Academy embarked on a nationwide tour over the spring and summer months of 2018.
