Australian pop-rock quartet, The Faim, is kicking off 2019 with the release of their new single, “Fire” premiered by Forbes.
According to frontman Josh Raven, the song is about how chasing your dream can affect the relationships with those around you.
“When you fully believe in something that you’re working towards, it can become an addiction,” he says. “You become so focused on what you plan to achieve that you lose sight of what’s happening around you.”
Raven also reveals that the title refers to the “burning passion to create” and “express ourselves.”
The song was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Linus, who has previously worked with the likes of blink-182, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Palaye Royale. “Fire” is also the group’s first new music of 2019, as the group is expected to release their debut album later this year.
In 2018, The Faim released their debut EP, Summer is a Curse, back in September. The EP brought hit singles “Saints of the Sinners,” “Midland Line,” “Summer Is a Curse,” and “A Million Stars.” Since the release of their EP, the group has been busy performing around the world, having recently finished their Australian leg of their first ever headline run.
