Rumours upon rumours upon rumours have been going for years and years about a new film and/or television series on The Addams Family, which have spread to no end over and over again; but, this is no rumour – we are getting a brand new film in 2019. Recently, the voice cast had been announced and it’s such a spooky line-up, we couldn’t have dreamed up anything more brilliantly creepy than these actors and actresses.
Before we get into the cast themselves, here are some details about The Addams Family 2019 film. It is expected to be released on October 11, 2019. It is being directed by Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Monsters Vs. Aliens, Sausage Party) and Greg Tiernan (Sausage Party, Thomas & Friends), while it is being produced by Gail Berman (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alphas), and Alex Schwartz (Bridge To Terabithia, Mr. Peabody & Sherman). The screenplay has been written by Matt Lieberman. The film will be distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).
It is based on Charles Addams’ cartoon of the same name which debuted in The New Yorker in 1938; since then, there have been various adaptions including a live-action TV series from 1964 to 1966, an animated TV series from 1973 to 1975, and a TV movie titled “Halloween with the New Addams Family” in 1977. Then came three feature films in the 90’s titled “The Addams Family” in 1991, “Addams Family Values” in 1993, and “Addams Family Reunion” in 1998. Alongside the release of the films, there were also two 90’s animated TV series, titled “The Addams Family: The Animated Series” which ran from 1992 to 1993, and “The New Addams Family” which ran from 1998 to 1999. We’ve been waiting for this family to come back in our lives and we’re so ready – previously, in 2010, Universal Pictures had acquired the rights, and Tim Burton was set to co-write and co-produce the film, but later it was cancelled.
Right, time to reveal the cast, and what a lucky selection they have got. We could just imagine this being a live-action film with all these cast members – unfortunately, it is going to be an animated film and yet their voice actors and actresses are more than perfect.

Bette Midler will voice Grandmama
Bette Midler needs no introduction, she’s famous for a whole host of roles, some of her iconic ones have been in Hocus Pocus, The Rose, and Beeches. She’s also had a number of chart-successful hits including “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “From A Distance”.
Allison Janney will voice Margaux Needler
Allison Janney is best known for her roles in The Help, Juno, I, Tonya, The West Wing, and Tallulah.
