Back in February of this year rising country-influenced singer/songwriter Thomas Kavanagh announced details of his forthcoming EP ‘Motion’. The five-track record from the Exeter based artist has now officially been mastered and a formal announcement regarding its release date and official artwork reveal will be made very soon.

Here at CelebMix we are delighted to have been given an early listen to the EP ahead of its release later this year and we’re glad to inform you that it will be well worth the wait.
The record opens with the soft rock-infused ‘I’ll Wait’ which is an anthemic opening and gives listeners a real taste of what’s to come. It’s a catchy, toe-tapping opening which is combined with relatable and thought-provoking lyrics.
Up next is ‘This Is My Time’ which slows the pace and gives us a gentle guitar melody at the start before Kavanagh’s Andy Brown Esque vocals kick in. This is a major standout on the EP and possibly the Brit’s best song to date.
‘Never Coming Back’ is at number 3 and once again Thomas Kavanagh changes direction and drives the record into new avenues. This song will strike a chord with many fans across the globe thanks to its country storytelling lyrics about heartbreak.
The penultimate track comes in the form of ‘I’m Here Now’ which is a poignant piano-led ballad that truly shines a light on Thomas’ soaring, rich vocals. Haunting lyrics make this a real standout and allows the EP to really breathe and gives it new meaning.
‘Too Scared To Love’ closes out the record and the guitar backdrop gives it an extra kick before Kavanagh’s vocals arrive to kick the track into a new gear. This is the perfect song to close out the EP as it as a funky sing-a-long vibe mixed with poignant lyrics and a soaring chorus.
