On Wednesday evening (8th May) we witnessed the incomparable Florence + The Machine perform at London’s Royal Festival Hall. This was very special moment for both the group and the audience as they got to preview new material from their new album in a much smaller setting than the arenas they have become accustomed to.
As a performer, Florence Welch has it all: the connection, the stage presence and those ethereal vocals that draw you into believing you’re the only person in the room. The set, which comprised of old and new tracks, was outstanding, making it a show never to forget. The freedom and passion that Flo and her band members exude live are what sets them apart.
A highlight of the gig and of their career so far was fan favourite ‘Dog Days Are Over’. Released in 2008, the track appeared on the group’s debut album Lungs and upon hearing it live, it just encourages you to tap into your inner self and be fearless and in the moment, much like Florence herself.
