On Friday, February 22nd, Tiffany Young released her first American EP Lips on Lips. The album features five tracks, including lead single “Born Again,” title track “Lips on Lips,” “The Flower,” “Not Barbie,” and “Runaway,” which features a duet with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmunds.
Young, who has been a member of K-pop group Girls’ Generation for over a decade, has been making her mark as a solo artist ever since the release of her debut single, “Over My Skin,” followed by songs such as “Teach You” and “Peppermint.”
Lips on Lips marks another new chapter for Tiffany’s music career. “This EP is a rebirth to me entirely; mind body and soul,” she said. “It’s about my dark and light, my passion pleasure pain all in one.”
On Instagram, she further explained the theme of the EP.
“The sound and theme is like a fairytale or fantasy through pop music, in every fairytale there is always a fight through struggle and pain right before the moment of triumph and the kiss. Through tough times I’ve had to close my eyes and see the fairytale fantasy past the pain, and sometimes everyone needs that.”
Tiffany will be performing songs from the album on her sold-out Lips on Lips North American Mini Showcase tour. The tour will kick off on March 3rd in Toronto and conclude in Los Angeles on March 16th.
These next few weeks will definitely be exciting for Tiffany, as she is also nominated for Best Solo Breakout at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Voting is open here and will close on Friday, March 8th.
We are so proud of how far Tiffany has come and can’t wait to see her perform her songs live!
