After much anticipation from fans and critics, Troye Sivan’s sophomore album, ‘Bloom’ has finally seen the light of day!
Back in January, fans first caught wind of Troye Sivan’s sophomore album when he released his anticipated single, ‘My My My!’ followed by the sweet pop ballad, ‘The Good Side’. Sivan then appeared on an episode of SNL as the musical guest performing both of his latest tracks.
March then rolled around the corner and the ‘Love, Simon’ soundtrack dropped which featured the Troye Sivan track, ‘Strawberries & Cigarettes’. However, the track was not included on Sivan’s sophomore album, ‘Bloom’. The album seems quite quaint as it only consists of 10 tracks, which is rather unusual in this modern age.
Nevertheless, we rolled with the punches and we were still anticipating the upcoming album. In May, Troye Sivan released the album’s title track, ‘Bloom’ as a single, which had fans in awe over the representation of the queer visuals displayed within the single’s music video.
Sivan was not quite done there as he had another few singles up his sleeves. As Ariana Grande was getting fans excited for her fourth studio album, ‘Sweetener’; Sivan revealed a musical collaboration with Grande was included on his upcoming second album. This collaboration was revealed to be the album’s fourth single with a release date of 13th June 2018.
There was no doubt the Ariana Grande-assisted single would catapult Sivan to new heights, as it is the most successful single from the album so far virally. At the time of this article, the official video for ‘Dance To This’ has surpassed 55 million views, whilst lead single, ‘My My My!’ has only garnished 37 million views.
Before we knew it, it was now August, however ‘Bloom’ has only just been released on the last day of the month. Sivan had to gift fans one more single before his second musical body of work was born, that single being ‘Animal’.
We included ‘Bloom’ on our Eight Albums to Hear in August 2018 article alongside Ariana Grande’s ‘Sweetener’ and what a sweet month is has been.
Troye Sivan’s sophomore album, ‘Bloom’ is out now.
