KCON is an event that we look forward to all year because it gives us a chance to see our favorite K-pop groups perform live and it also helps introduce us to new and groups. Apart from the concert portion of the event, KCON also holds a convention during the day that includes workshops and panels that helps fans learn more not only about the genre but also about Korean culture in general. Since launching in 2012, KCON has quickly become the world’s largest Korean pop culture fan convention and concert. This year, it will hold two events, one in Los Angeles and the other in New York.
The first performers announced for KCON 2019 NY are none other than TXT (TOMORROW X TOGETHER) and NU’EST.
Having debuted in 2012, NU’EST has just celebrated seven years together as a group last month on March 15th. They are set to release their new album, Happily Ever After, on April 29th. The five-member group has previously performed at KCON.
Meanwhile, TXT is new to the KCON scene. They just debuted last month with their EP, The Dream Chapter: STAR. They are known for their hit single, “Crown.” When KCON released a few hints about their NY lineup, one of the pictures they posted was of a crown, which immediately sent TXT fans into a frenzy and had them guessing that the group would be coming to New York. With their upcoming Showcase: STAR in US tour coming up, the guys will actually perform in New York on May 9th at the Playstation Theater. KCON 2019 NY, which will be held at Madison Square Garden and at the Javits Center from July 6th to the 7th, will be the group’s second performance in the city.
More artists will be announced soon for KCON 2019 NY. To stay updated, check out event’s official website.
