Daniel Radcliffe, Adam Lambert and Meghan Trainor lead voice cast for ‘Playmobil: The Movie’

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and singers Adam Lambert and Meghan Trainor lead the voice cast for the upcoming family film Playmobil: The Movie.

They will be joined by Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), Gabriel Bateman (Lights Out) and comedian/actor Jim Gaffigan (Chappaquiddick).

It has also been revealed that both Adam and Meghan will contribute original songs for the animation-live action hybrid movie, which is based on the popular kids toy line.

Directed by Lino DiSalvo (Frozen, Tangled, Bolt), the script for Playmobil: The Movie comes from Blaise Hemingway, Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, whilst the head of animation is Julien Bocabeille. The film will be produced by Aton Soumache, Dimitri Rassam, Emmanuel Jacomet, Alexis Vonarb and Moritz Borman

According to Deadline, the film will follow “the adventures of siblings Charlie (Bateman) and Marla (Taylor-Joy). When the former unexpectedly disappears into the animated universe of Playmobil, Marla must go on a quest to bring him home. During her adventures she teams up with some unlikely new friends, including smooth-talking food truck driver Del (Gaffigan), dashing and charismatic secret agent Rex Dasher (Radcliffe), a wholehearted misfit robot and an extravagant fairy-godmother (Trainor). Lambert will voice the character of villain Emperor Maximus.”

Whilst no release date has been confirmed, Playmobil: The Movie will be released by Studiocanal in the UK whilst a US distributor is currently being discussed.
