Last night saw the queens of British country music Ward Thomas kick-off their 22-date tour of the UK with a sold-out show at the G Live venue in Guildford. During the set the girls performed every single song off their record-breaking number 1 album ‘Cartwheels‘, three songs off their first LP ‘From Where We Stand‘, a track off their new covers EP ‘A Shorter Story‘, and to the fans’ delight they also premiered two brand new songs.
The new tracks which will be featured on their upcoming third studio album which will be released in 2018, are titled ‘Breathe In’, and ‘I Believe In You’.
Both songs are equally beautiful but are also very different to each other proving once again just how versatile and talented these girls are.
‘Breathe In’ is a stunning ballad with poignant lyrics about the special and unique bond twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy share. It is a truly breathtaking track that makes you feel something very sincere and showcases Ward Thomas’ sublime vocal talents and spine tingling harmonies.
The other song they debuted was the bouncy ‘I Believe In You’, which is very, very different to anything they have released to date. The track is very up-tempo and it features a very, very catchy chorus. During this premiere the girls got the audience involved by allowing them to sing the lines “you’re on your way, yeah you’re” which went down very well. It is a brilliant song and one that proves just how versatile Ward Thomas are and shows they are two of the best songwriters this country has created for a long time.
Both performances of the fantastic new songs were caught on camera by Planet Music Reviews. You can watch the two videos here:
