Andy Brown is best known for being the frontman of pop/rock group Lawson, but for his solo music the 30-year-old has become a fully fledged country music singer/songwriter. While part of Lawson, Brown helped the band to major chart success scoring five top-10 singles and one top-10 album, and with his own music he is expected to do just as good if not better on the charts.
His eagerly anticipated debut album is due for release via Decca Records in the coming months and will feature a number of great original tracks such as ‘Hollow’, and ‘Lay With Me’.
But the lead single off the LP is the stunning collaboration with Crissie Rhodes. Andy has teamed up with one half of the record breaking UK country duo The Shires for his official debut solo single ‘Landslide‘ with great success.
The track is absolutely gorgeous and Rhodes and Brown sound sublime together. Their harmonies blend together to create a spine-tingling ear-worm. ‘Landslide’ is a really great country/pop track which propels Andy Brown into the country music limelight and showcases how much talent the UK country scene has to offer.
Speaking exclusively to The Metro about his move into the country genre, Andy said: “I’ve been listening to country music since I was 12. I feel like country music is just pop music with guitars with more emotive lyrics.”
And now he has released the official music video for ‘Landslide’. The clip was filmed with Crissie Rhodes at Angel Studios in Islington. You can watch the stripped back video here:
