Wavebye Release Debut Single ‘Sugar’

Here at CelebMix, we love keeping you up to date on bands who deserve your attention. One of this is Wavebye, formerly known as Faux the Southampton quartet have today released their debut track Sugar.

Sugar introduces listeners to the band’s guitar-driven sound, which finds a way to get you hooked right before the chorus kicks into action. We’re visualising this at a small live show with the crowd getting involved from the onset as vocalist Finlay Male roams across the stage with Daly George and Jordan Mattingley providing slick guitars and a driving drumbeat from James Cross. The band also unveiled the video for the track today which was directed and edited by Southampton based photographer/videographer Martyna Wisniewska (@gingerdope).

When speaking of starting with a new name, a fresh slate Finley said “We started the band Faux as a group of friends writing emo/pop-rock with the simple goal of having fun while feeling creatively content. Our years together formed a strong passion and belief in our ability to create a unique sound that we feel was no longer fairly represented by Faux and our name should evolve with us.”. We loved Faux’s old sound and we’re excited to see what Wavebye have up their sleeves for the rest of the year!

Wavebye will be playing their debut London  show when they join Chapter and Verse at Thousand Island, London on May 16th. For further details and tickets head here. They will also be appearing at Teddy Rocks Festival on 5th May along with upcoming shows in Brighton, Salisbury and Torquay also lined up, you can find more details here.

A keen lover of boybands, nearly all genres of music and travelling. I'm always looking for new artists to check out, so send them my way and you might be able to be smug knowing you helped me find a new favourite band. You'll probably say I have long hair, most people do.
