Singer/songwriter Zak Abel has unveiled his new track You Come First featuring upcoming hip-hop star Saweetie. Co-written by Zak and Iman Coulter (Zara Larsson) it was produced by Will Simms and lastly mixed by Wez Clarke (Clean Bandit, Sam Smith) and this great team behind the track has created something special.
This funky pop track complete with an eye-catching lyric video is undeniably catchy thanks to its recurring whistle tune, which we’re still attempting to copy. Trying to convince someone that they come first and Zak is pleading to that special girl to ‘Let me you give you what you deserve‘. The sass from Saweetie is overpowering ‘Understand you ain’t dealing with no basic bitch‘, basic Saweetie? No chance. Summer might be coming to the end but with this track, you can make it last a little bit longer.
When speaking about the track, Zak Abel said “This song is about priorities. It’s about putting your lover first – a matter very close to my heart. I’m so happy that Saweetie is on the track. She completely understood where I was coming from and the feel of the track, and subsequently killed her verse.“. This collaboration works perfectly thanks to Zak and Saweetie vocally complimenting each other and offering the full musical package.
Fans are likely to have already heard this track due to it being highlighted during his live sets. For the last week, he has been teasing fans across social media with snippets of the track leading up to its release today. Their prayers have now been answered! 2018 saw Zak releasing Love Song kicking off a new musical era following on from his debut album Only When We’re Naked released last year.
